Head of Fundraising

Role description

As Head of Fundraising, your main responsibility will be to plan and implement the fundraising strategy for the Student Division's events. You will be expected to find charities and nonprofits to work with, and organise events to raise money for the causes they support with the help of the Events Team. Please note that funds will always be raised for a charity or other not-for-profit body, not for the Student Division's own expenses. 

Responsibilities and general duties of the role

  • Brainstorming creative and interesting ideas for fundraising events, ensuring that plans are appropriate according to the purpose of charity or not-for-profit collaboration is intended with.

  • Organising and executing fundraising events – taking care of the logistics of fundraising events (booking venues, contacting charities, etc.). 

  • Collaborating with the Events Team on the yearly events calendar.

Qualities needed for the role

  • Organisational skills – as Head of Fundraising, you must have great time management, attention to detail, and planning skills.

  • Communication skills – you must be able to communicate well with other committee members, the Events Team, and the Marketing Team to make sure that events run smoothly and are advertised well. As you will be in touch with different organisations and venues, you must have great written and oral communication skills. 

  • A balance of creativity and practicality – as Head of Fundraising, you will be expected to brainstorm ideas for fundraising events that would be appealing to LWOBxUoM members and complete the logistical steps to ensure the events are well-executed
