Head of Marketing

Role description

As the Head of Marketing you will be overseeing the marketing team and ensuring everyone is aware of their week's tasks. You will also be responsible for planning and creating multimedia content to upload to all social platforms along with the Marketing Assistant. You will also create the marketing schedule for upcoming content and plan when these posts will be uploaded. You may be expected to work alongside the marketing teams of other societies for collaborative event and where necessary, assisting other committee members with other ventures.

Responsibilities and general duties of the role

  • Making and scheduling posts for all events you will use Canva to design and create visually appealing posts which follow the UOM LWOB theme. 

  • Creating Instagram stories and focusing on follower engagement you must create an engaging presence via our social media platforms and find new ways to appeal to people online. Examples of this include Instagram polls and Q&As.

  • Liaising with other Marketing Heads you may need to work alongside other societies on events and campaigns, so you will have to communicate with other Marketing Heads.

  • Overseeing the Marketing assistant you must show good leadership skills in order to properly guide the Marketing Assistant and divide any tasks fairly. You must also be able to help the Marketing Assistant should they need it.

Qualities needed for the role

  • A keen eye for detail when creating posts alongside creativity and good photo editing skills, attention to detail is crucial to inform students of our work.

  • A passion for Human Rights and the Rule of Law marketing requires enthusiasm and interest in this area of law.

  • Good organisational skills – a good Head of Marketing will know in detail of all events, plans and logistics and ensure materials and posts are made according to the timeline.
