Events Manager

Role description

As the Events Manager, your primary responsibility is to assist the Head of Events in organising and running LWOBxUoM events. This will include outlining events for the academic year, contacting potential speakers, i.e. lawyers, to present at an event, and assisting with the logistics of an event. You will also be expected to collaborate with the Marketing Team to ensure events are well-advertised.

Responsibilities and general duties of the role

  • Coordinating with the Events team with regards to event planning and any related affairs. 

  • Suggesting and organising an event idea to the Events team and the rest of the committee. You will be expected to help the Head of Events with all logistics-related plans for the events, from general planning to contacting speakers and venues and ensuring events are well-executed.

  • Collaborating with the Student Division at committee meetings with regards to ideas and involvement. You are expected to attend each meeting and contribute to the discussion.

Qualities needed for the role

  • Collaboration and being a Team Player – as an Events Manager, you must be willing to assist the Head of Events and the rest of the committee with any events-related and other matters.

  • Communication as an Events Manager, you will be expected to liaise with the Head of Events and outside organisations in setting up and running an event. 

  • Attention to Detail – organising events involves ensuring that all plans are well-thought-out and well-presented. You must be able to assist the Head of Events in brainstorming ways in which to improve events and make sure that all necessary details are thought of. 

  • Organisational Skills – as an Events Manager, you will be expected to have good time management and planning skills.
